Warren L. Martindale

Warren L. Martindale, 91, died on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in Sweetwater. He was a resident of Fisher County.

Services have been set for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at First Christian Church with Reverend Curtis Ward.

Mr. Martindale was born on November 21, 1920 in Haskell, Texas. He married Winnie Thelma Kinney on May 13, 1943. Warren lived in the Sweetwater area most of his life and was a member of First Christian Church in Sweetwater. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was a communications technician for AT&T and Southwestern Bell, working for 41 years.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Kinney Martindale, of Sweetwater; his daughter, Jean Ann Bland and her husband, Jerry, of Bedias, Texas; his brother, Roy Martindale, of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters including Joyce Sims of Oklahoma; three grandsons, Monty Baker of Abilene, Texas, David Baker of Sweetwater, and Jerry Lynn Bland of Bedias, Texas; his granddaughter, Christine Bland, of Bedias, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Lummie Martindale, and a daughter, Linda Sue Martindale Baker, on December 3, 1980, and a brother, David Martindale.

Memorials may be made to Ben Richey’s Boys Ranch or West Texas Rehabilitation Center.
